PATOS Natural Wine – Sondre Lerche’s Inspired Journey Merging Wine, Art and Music
In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, Norwegian artist Sondre Lerche returned to his home town of Bergen and launched his own line of natural wines – PATOS. While concerts and travel were generally on hold, his passionate creativity continued as he travelled around Norway giving socially distanced solo shows. Apart from leading to a hugely successful new album, Avatars of Love, significant collaborations with some of Europe’s most exciting winemakers were formed.
Inspired by music, art, and deep rosé-filled evenings, the first three wines were born: a structured rosé (Luz y Luz), a crisp sparkling (Cuvée PATOS), and an orange wine (Maceracion). The collection has since grown to include PATOS Fresco – a sparkling Pinot Noir, a Spanish orange wine Patos Maceracion – and PATOS Susucaru, an exciting new orange wine originating from Sicily.
Sondre chose the name PATOS, being the Norwegian word for passion and emotional depth, as it perfectly describes his vision for both his music and his wine.
